Musketeer Event Management is delighted to name the new Georgie Campbell Foundation as its charity of choice for 2025. Set to launch at Barbury later this week, the relationship will run at Musketeer organised events throughout the year, including Barbury (making its return to the BE calendar), the FEI Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials, and Cirencester Park.
5* event rider Georgie Campbell (née Strang) tragically died doing what she loved in a rotational fall at Bicton International Horse Trials on 26 May 2024. The Georgie Campbell Foundation has been set up by a collection of people who love and miss Georgie including her husband, New Zealand event rider, Jesse Campbell and older sister, Jo Williams (née Strang). It is a charity that resonates with the team at Musketeer, who used to love welcoming Georgie to their events.
“Georgie was a beautiful human inside and out,” said Event Organiser for Musketeer Event Management, Jenny Meiklejohn. “We want to do whatever we can to keep her legacy alive and we look forward to working with the fabulous team at the Foundation to do our bit.”
As well as financial support, the Musketeer Events team will be helping to raise the charity’s profile. “I am on my way to pick up a good supply of purple paint (Georgie’s cross country colours), which we will be making starring appearances at Barbury and Burnham Market,” added Jenny. “Hopefully as people ride over the special fences, or enjoy sitting and spectating at them, they will be reminded of Georgie and raise a smile on her behalf.”
